HOW TO FIX A DENT IN A CAR

How to Fix a Small Dent in a Car
One of these easy do-it-yourself dent fixes could restore your vehicle to its former condition and save you a trip to your local Emerald Park-area body shop.
- Plunger: Use a bathroom plunger or a special car dent plunger to pop the dent out.
- Hammer or Mallet: A hammer is good for smaller fixes, and a mallet is best for larger dents. Make sure to hammer on the opposite side of the dent, and protect the surface you are hammering with a towel or something similar to avoid further damage.
- Dent puller: To use this specialized tool you’ll need to drill a hole in the dent, then lace wire through it, and pull the dent back to surface level. You’ll then need to fill the hole, sand it down, and paint the area. Note that we recommend that you only use a dent puller if you have experience.
How to Fix Scratches on a Car

- Sandpaper: To fix small, shallow scratches on the surface of your vehicle you should first thoroughly clean the affected area, and then gently rub over it with 2000-grit wet sandpaper. When the scratch is almost invisible, apply a rubbing compound.
- Candle wax: As a temporary fix, you can gently rub candle wax over the cleaned area to seal the scratch.
- Super glue: Another temporary solution is to use super glue to help seal the scratch so that it blends with the vehicle.
